When you purchase a domain name, it is very important to connect it to hosting. Hosting may be free or paid.

You can purchase hosting from different websites.

When you purchase a domain from one website then it is not necessary that you have to purchase hosting from the same website.

You can also purchase hosting from a different website or you can go for free hosting services such as blogger also.

Blogger hosting is free to use but it has some limitations. But it is better than other free web hosting websites.


When you sign up for a blogger, it provides you a subdomain name. The problem with the subdomain is that it is not rank fast.

The custom domain ranks fast on search engines.

Steps to connect custom domain name to blogger:

1.Log in to your custom domain name provider website and go to my product option.

2.select your custom domain name and click on the manage DNS option. When you click on manage DNS opting you get some records.

3.You have to change those records with records provided by the blogger.

4.You will find lots of records such as A records, CNAME records, TXT records, etc.

5.Go to the publishing option and click on edit and paste your custom domain on the space provided there and click on the save option.

6. After clicking on the save option, it shows an error. It provides you two CNAME, you have to copy those CNAMEs and go to your domain name records by clicking on the manage DNS option.

7.Create two CNAME record and paste CNAME in that records which are provided by the blogger.

In most cases, it is live after 10 to 15 minutes but in some cases, it takes a longer time.

When you purchase a custom domain name from one website and hosting from a different website, you have to connect your hosting to your domain name otherwise your website is not live.

You have to update nameservers in your custom domain account so that your website will be live.

You need to go to your hosting provider website account and go to the hosting you purchase.

There is an option of a nameserver, you have a copy those two nameservers from the hosting provider account and paste it to the domain provider website.
