What is IBPS PO Exam?
The long-form of IBPS is the Institute of banking personnel selection. IBPS conducts lots of exams and provides an employee to almost all public service undertaking banks.
One of the exams is for the IBPS Probationary Officer exam. This exam is held for selecting probationary officers for public sector banks.
Probationary officers are recruited every year through a common recruitment examination. The IPBS PO selection process consists of three phases such as a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an interview. The candidate must pass each of them.
Online Preliminary Exam:
The online preliminary exam is held and the candidate who gets marks above cutoff marks will be qualified for the mains exam. There is separate timing for each section in the preliminary exam.
Online Mains Exam:
The candidate who qualifies for both the cutoff score that is sectional cutoff and the overall cutoff will qualify for an interview.
Interview:
The interview will be conducted by IBPS.
Result:
The result is declared on the basis of IBPS Mains examination and Interview rounds.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern:
The preliminary examination has a total duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes for each section. This exam will be conducted in online mode. It has a total of 100 questions and the maximum mark for the exam is 100 marks.
There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks which are deducted for each wrong answer. There are three sections in the exam such as the English language, Numerical ability, and reasoning ability. There are 30 questions in the English language section and asked for 30 marks.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern:
The Main exam is conducted online. It consists of 5sections with a total of 225 marks. The total duration of the exam is 3 and a half hours.
A candidate must clear both preliminary and mains examination for the interview. The syllabus includes reasoning and computer aptitude, English language, data analysis and interpretation, the general economy and banking awareness, and letter writing in the English language.

Interview Pattern:
The candidates who pass the mains exam are eligible for an interview. The interview carries 100 marks. The qualifying marks in the interview are 40% and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. The interview is generally 15-20 minutes long.
Eligibility criteria:
The eligibility criteria for the exam is a graduation degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India.
Candidates need working knowledge of computer systems. Candidates should read, write and speak the local language of the state.
The candidate should not less than 20 years and more than 30 years at the time of registration. The participating organization also arranges pre-exam training classes for SC/ST and minority community candidates.

Exam syllabus:
The English language consists of Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para jumbles, Multiple Meaning / Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks, Miscellaneous, Paragraph Completion. It also consists of reasoning and numerical ability topics.
Examination Fee:
The examination fee for ST/SC/PWD candidate is 100 Rs and for open and other candidates is 600 Rs.
