SSC CHSL Exam
The SSC(Staff selection commission) conducts the CHSL(Combined Higher Secondary Level) Exam. This exam is conducted every year by SSC. SSC conducts this exam for the recruitment of various posts in the government of India.

Posts in CHSL Exam are Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Lower Divisional Clerk, and Court Clerk.

The application fee for this exam is 100 Rs. Except for female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-serviceman candidates.

The candidate can apply for this post by online mode only. Candidates can pay fees through online and offline mode. Candidates can pay fees online by credit card, debit card, and Netbanking. If a candidate wants to pay the fee offline then he wants to take a printout of the online generated challan and pay the fee in any SBO branch.

The pay scale for the Lower division clerk is Rs.5200- 20200 and Grade pay of Rs.1900. The PayScale for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator is Rs.5200-20200 and Grade pay of Rs. 2400.

The SCC CHSL Exam is carried out in 3 Tiers. Tier I is carried out in Online mode and the remaining 2 tiers are carried out in offline mode. Candidates can apply for this exam on the official website of the Staff selection commission.
    Candidates whose age is 18-27 are eligible to apply. There is a 5 Year relaxation in age for SC/ST Candidates, 3 Year relaxation for OBC Candidates.

    Educational Qualification:
    The candidate must be passed the 12th Standard Examination or equivalent examination from the recognized board or university for LDC/JSA, PA/SA, AND Data Entry Operator.

    The candidate must be passed 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics or equivalent from a recognized board or university for Data Entry Operator in the controller and auditor general of India.


    Tier I exam is carried out in online mode and multiple-choice questions are asked in the exam. Tier-II Exam is carried out in Pen and Paper Mode. Tier III Exam is a skill test exam and applicable for only some posts.

    The time duration for Tier I Exam is 60 Minutes. There are a total of 100 questions that are asked for 200 Marks. There are four sections in Tier I Exam. There are 25 questions in General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude section which is asked for 50 Marks each respectively.

    There is a negative marking of 0.5 marks in the Tier I Exam for each wrong answer.

    The duration of the exam for Visually Handicapped Candidate is 75 Minutes.

    There is a descriptive paper of 100 Marks in Tier-II Exam and the time for this exam is 60 Minutes. Candidate can write Essay and Letter in English/Hindi. Candidates required 33 percent marks to qualify for this exam.

    The duration of the exam for Visually Handicapped Candidate is 80 Minutes.

    The Tier III Exam is conducted whichever applicable for the posts.
