Staff Selection Commission
Staff selection commission is an organization that recruits staff for different offices of the government of India. The headquarter of the staff selection commission is located in New Delhi. 

It has seven regional offices which are located at Allahabad, Mumbai, Guwahati, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Chennai. Different examinations are conducted by the staff selection commission for different posts all over India.

Exams conducted by staff selection commission:

Staff selection commission conducts different exams such as SSC combined graduate-level examination, combined higher secondary level examination, stenographer, central police organizations, selection post, scientific assistant post, SSC gd constable, and SSC multitasking. 

The syllabus and exam pattern for these exams are different for every exam. 

The age limit for this examination is 18 to 25 years from the date of application. Age relaxation is applied to reserved categories. Some exams in the staff selection commission are held in four tiers.

SSC Combined graduate level Exam:

For staff selection commission graduate level exam candidates required a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute and 60 percent marks in mathematics in the 12th standard examination. This exam is conducted in four tiers. 

Exams for the first two tiers are conducted by online mode and the third tier is conducted on pen and paper mode and the fourth tier is for computer skills. As the exams are held at different shifts the score of candidates is normalized and then it is counted with tier three and tier four examinations and then the final list will be published of selected candidates. 


The total time for this examination is 60 minutes and it consists of 100 questions that carry 2 marks each. Hence total marks for this exam are 200. In this exam questions asked on general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English comprehension. Each section contains 25 questions and a total of 50 marks. 



A number of question in the tier 2 exam are 100 and is asked for 200 marks means each question carries 2 marks. The syllabus of this exam contains quantitative ability, statistics, general studies, and English language and comprehension. 


There is a penalty for each wrong answer of 0.25 marks. Tier 3 exam is conducted by pen and paper mode and you have written a letter, applications, etc in 60 minutes. The total marks for this exam are 100. Tier 4 exam is conducted for checking computer skills in a candidate.

SSC Combined higher secondary level examination:

SSC conducts this examination for recruiting employees for different posts such as postal assistant/sorting assistant, data entry operator, lower division clerk, and court clerk. 

The fee for SSC CHSL exam is 100 Rs. There is no fee for female, SC, ST, Physically handicapped, and Ex-serviceman candidates. This exam is carried on three tiers. 


Tier 1 is held in online mode and the remaining two tiers are held in offline mode. The syllabus of this examination includes general awareness, general intelligence, quantitative aptitude, and the English language. 


The total marks for this exam are 200 and it contains 100 questions means each question carries 2 marks. The total time for this exam is 60 minutes.

SSC Stenographer Exam:

SSC or Staff Selection Commission held this exam for selecting candidates for the post of Stenographer Grade C and D. The Application Fee for SSC Stenographer is Rs. 100/-for General and OBC candidates

There is no fee for Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWDand Ex-servicemen category as well as Female candidatesTotal marks for this exam are 200, there is a total of 200 questions and the total time for this exam is 2 hours.

Central Police organizations Exam:

SSC conducts this exam for filling candidates for the post of sub-inspectors in various central government police organizations such as CRPF, ITBP, CBI, CISF, BSF, and SI. The age limit for this examination is between 20 to 25 years.

SSC Selection Post Exam:

The selection process of SSC Selection Posts consists of a single Computer Based Examination. There are no interviews will be conducted for this exam. 

The age limit for most of the posts is a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 30 years. The total questions in the exam are 100 of 200 marks and the total time for the exam is 60 minutes. There will be 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC Scientific assistant post Exam:

Staff Selection Commission will conduct this examination for Scientific Assistants for India Meteorological Department. 

Candidates who selected for this position will be paid at level 6 of the pay matrix (Rs.9300-34800) plus grade pay of Rs. 4200 on a pre-revised scale. The Application Fee for SSC scientific assistant post is Rs.100/- for General and OBC candidates.


There is no fee for Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWDand Ex-servicemen category as well as Female candidates.

SSC GD Constable Exam:

Staff Selection Commission will conduct GD Constables Exam to fill in the vacant posts of General Duty at BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, Rifleman, etc. 

The recruitment process comprises four stages namely such as Physical Standard Test (PST)Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Computer-based Test, and Medical Test.
SSC Multitasking Exam:
Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC MTS exam in two stages such as Paper 1 which is Computer Based Test and Paper 2  which is a descriptive Test. 

SSC MTS Recruitment is conducted by Staff Selection Commission for Multitasking Staff posts in various government departments and offices. The multi-tasking staff is a general central service of group c. SSC MTS salary comes from 18000Rs to 22000Rs.
