In this article, I tell you How to pay LIC premium online

I tell you all the online options which are used to make online LIC premium payments.

LIC(Life Insurance Corporation Of India) is a government-owned insurance company in India. 

Nowadays, due to a busy schedule and lifestyle People are so busy in their works and going to the branch and paying premium takes so many times. People stand in a long queue to pay LIC Premium.

But there is a solution to this problem. Life Insurance Corporation of India has made some Online options to pay premiums without visiting the LIC branch. 

LIC has made LIC online portal as well as apps. You can also use third-party apps such as Paytm, google pay, phone pe, etc.. to pay the LIC Policy premium within a seconds.

1. LIC Website Portal

Paying Insurance premiums through the LIC website is not a difficult job. You need to visit www.licindia.in and Locate the Online services.


Here you get two options i.e. you can pay the premium directly or you can create an account with LIC and then pay the premium.

Through Pay Direct:



Here you can pay the premium payments/revival, loan repayment, and loan interest repayment.

Click on the premium payment option. After that one popup will appear then click on proceed button.


Step 1:


You need to enter details such as policy number, installment premium without taxes, date of birth, email id, mobile number, etc...


Enter the captcha and click on I agree and submit it.

Step 2:

In step 2, you need to check the premium particulars. You can also add your other policies to make premium payments.

Step 3:

Here you have to choose payment options such as billdesk, Credit card, Debit card, Net banking, UPI, etc… and make a payment.

Through Customer Portal:

For paying insurance premiums through the customer portal, first, you need to register to the LIC portal. Registering is very simple.

Click on the registered user's button and then the sign-up button. You need to enter details such as policy number, installment premium without taxes,  Date of birth, Email, Mobile number, etc… You can also add a PAN number and Passport number but it is optional.


Select the gender and tick on Confirm box and then click on Proceed button. You need to confirm your email id and mobile number by OTP sent to your mobile number.


After successful registration, you need to log in to your account. After login, you need to click on Online payments section.



You get policy details and premium amounts. Check all the details and then click on the “Check and Pay” button, it will be redirected to the payment gateway and make the payment.

LIC portal will accept only domestic cards and it does not accept international cards.

2.Through LIC Apps


Policyholders can also pay LIC Insurance premiums through LIC apps such as the LIC Customer app. LIC has two more apps i.e. LIC Pay Direct and My LIC. All these apps are available in Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

3. Through Paytm:

You can also pay a LIC premium through the Paytm app or website. Open your Paytm app and search Insurance on the search box. Choose LIC in the Insurer section and enter the Policy Number. 


It will fetch your details. Check all your details and then Pay the Premium within seconds.

How to Download LIC Premium Paid Receipt:

If you are paying a premium through the LIC website or LIC app, then after the successful transaction, the receipt is generated, you can save this receipt on your mobile or computer.

In case the error page is displayed after the transaction, the first check the amount is debited from your bank or not. 

If the amount is debited then the receipt will be sent to your email id within 3 working days. If your amount is not debited then try again to pay the premium.

If you are paying insurance through Paytm, then you can download the receipt by going to the MY ORDERS section in the Paytm app. Click on Transaction and Download receipt. It takes 3 working days to reflect the amount in your LIC portal. Sometimes it may be updated on the due date of LIC Policy.

If you have an issue then you can contact the LIC customer care number, You can get customer care numbers from the Official LIC website.
